Next Sly Contest: an idea competition for young designers by Sly YachtsThe ongoing process of innovation at Sly Yachts is focused on young talent. In 2008 was born Next Sly Contest, a competition aimed at singling out the best ideas and most innovative designers in the boating sector. This contest is of international scope and calls on students and degree-holding designers, who are not older than 35 years. The first competition rules were published in June 2008 and the official prizegiving took place in Düsseldorf during the Boot 2009: the ward consisted in 5000 euros assigned by a panel of journalists, representatives of the yard, professors and institutions of the boating sector.
Design the Sly of the future: this is an exciting and original idea, to shed light on the creative skills of the younger people and offer them a concrete opportunity to come into contact with the shipbuilding world. Next Sly Contest is a new occasion to be known and seize the opportunity to have their ideas carried out. To the competitors we required the themes that Sly values the most: innovation for sailing, comfort for cruising, respect for the environment.
The first edition of Next Sly Contest enjoyed a great success: 21 competitors and 14 projects, presented form all over the world. Sly Yachts is already working on the next edition of the Contest. The date will be in Autumn 2009.
